University Policy

It is the policy of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to provide businesses owned by minority persons equal access and opportunity to participate fully in all aspects of the University construction program; to prohibit discrimination against businesses on the basis of race, color, national origin, or gender; to promote and encourage full and open competition; and to promote equal access to contracting opportunities among the various contractors and vendors that do business with the University.

Senate Bill 914

Senate Bill 914 was enacted by the North Carolina State Legislature to encourage the use of “Good Faith Efforts” by all state agencies in the recruitment and selection of minority firms to reach a verifiable ten percent (10%) participation level on state construction projects. The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is fully committed to exceeding this goal.

Our Commitment

As part of our commitment to this goal, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte has adopted The University of North Carolina Plan to Increase Utilization of Historically Underutilized Businesses in Construction Projects.
