Recycling at UNC Charlotte got it start in 1991 through student efforts.  Beginning with just aluminum can collection, we've grown throughout the years in numbers and in material collected.  We now accept over 40 items and operate an award winning Construction and Demolition Recycling Program.  Our team is made up of 13 staff members who administer, manage programs, and collect recycling from over 1000 bins per week.  We are often seen throughout campus with our signature "UNC Charlotte Recycles" shirts on. 

In the 2010 - 2011 FY, we recycled 2 million pounds of material!
