The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is committed to becoming a regional model of sustainable stewardship via understanding our impacts on the natural systems and using this knowledge to reorient our research, educational, outreach and operational activities to embrace sustainability as a core value of UNC Charlotte.

Sustainability Coordinator: David Jones is the Sustainability Coordinator for UNC Charlotte. David has been with UNC Charlotte for four years and took the Sustainability Position in December of 2007. David has been involved in sustainability for 8 years both in the UK and in the USA.

Sustainability Committee

The Chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte has appointed a campus wide sustainability committee. Beth Hardin, vice chancellor for business affairs, will oversee this committee on behalf of the chancellor. The committee is made up of faculty staff and students. The committee is responsible for recommending short and long-term sustainability goals to progress sustainability at UNC Charlotte.

The committee meets quarterly and all meeting are open to the public
