The Facilities Management Grounds team was awarded a 2019 Green Star Awards merit award from the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) in recognition of the team’s work on the UNC Charlotte East Quad.

East Quad, an area maintained by the central campus and moves crew, is located in the central point that leads pedestrian traffic toward Cato Hall, the Fretwell and Friday buildings, and the historic academic complex.

Annually, the PGMS awards program recognizes grounds maintained with a high degree of excellence and compliments other national landscape award programs that highlight outstanding landscape design and construction.

This year PGMS presented two grand awards, 16 honor awards, and seven merit awards in seven categories of competition. A complete list of award recipients may be viewed online.
