The University holds memberships in several organizations to help progress it's sustainability goals, which includes achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Each of the organizations listed below can be accessed by anyone at our University, and we encourage you take a glace at them and see if any of their tools could help you or your office function in a more responsible manner. Additionally, we have listed the historical data for energy consumption and waste diversion for your reference:

AASHE empowers higher education faculty, administrators, staff and students to be effective change agents and drivers of sustainability innovation. We work with and for higher education to ensure that our world’s future leaders are motivated and equipped to solve sustainability challenges.

The U.S. Green Building Council is committed to a sustainable, prosperous future through LEED, the leading program for green buildings and communities worldwide.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society.

Second Nature is committed to accelerating climate action in, and through, higher education. They do this by mobilizing a diverse array of higher education institutions to act on bold climate commitments, to scale campus climate initiatives, and to create innovative climate solutions. They align, amplify, and bridge the sector’s efforts with other global leaders to advance urgent climate priorities.

Sustain Charlotte is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that informs, engages, and empowers residents to address the numerous sustainability challenges that have accompanied our rapid population growth. They do this by giving residents a voice, informing thousands of residents, organizing inspiring events, partnering with the City of Charlotte, and partnering with community organizations.

The Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and recognize purchasing leadership that accelerates the transition to a prosperous and sustainable future.
