The Space Management Advisory Committee, or SMAC, provides a collaborative and integrated platform from which to consider campus space needs and to formulate corresponding allocation recommendations based upon highest and best uses for the institution as a whole. It is the responsibility of the SMAC to evaluate all space requests (new, augmented, and/or change of use) and generate related space allocation recommendations in the context of the University’s educational mission and articulated institutional plans. All space assignment recommendations from the SMAC are advanced to the Space and Property Steering Committee and Chancellor for final endorsement. Additionally, the SMAC serves in an advisory capacity to the University in assessing and guiding the execution of all facets of campus space management processes. Committed to a regular exchange of information, the SMAC will post its meeting schedule and meeting minutes. The Committee will be administratively supported by the University’s Facilities Management and Institutional Research units.
