The air handler unit needing repair is located on the fourth floor of the Atkins Library and serves three floors of heavily used student study spaces. The air handler is also a required component for operation of the building smoke control system. The AHU components are at the end of life and are no longer functional. Repair is necessary to meet the requirements of the life safety code.
