WELCOME!

Welcome to the UNC Charlotte Recycling website.  Started by students in 1990, recycling began with a can collection program.  Not long afterwards, Witherspoon Hall became the first residence hall to take part.  Since then we have grown to 17 employees and now recycle more than 40 items.  We also operate a composting program, an award winning construction and demolition recycling / re-use program, and environmental education on and off campus. WHAT'S NEW WITH RECYCLING?

Upon returning to campus in the coming weeks, you may notice that where there used to be two paper recycling bins, there is now only one.  We have recently switched from dual-stream to single-stream paper recycling, so ALL of your recyclable paper products can now go into the single blue bin. Each bin will have a new label that looks like the picture shown here, serving as a guide for what you can recycle there. Reach out if you have any questions, and thanks for recycling!
